After a very successful inaugural tournament in 2020, the ATP Cup found its place in the calendar also in 2021. Although this year there will be only 12 countries competing in Australia, it will still bring a lot of action as players such as Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem or Daniil Medvedev will play the 2021 ATP Cup.
This year, the 12 teams were divided into 4 groups of 3 teams, from which the winners qualified for the semifinals. Similar to the last year, each tie was played in a Best of 3 format with 2 singles and 1 doubles matches.
From the very beginning, the Russians were great favorites as the only nation with two players from the Top 10. Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev showed their dominance when they didn't lose any match at the 2021 ATP Cup and led their country towards the trophy in Australia.
